New works by MAYA BLOCH at Thierry Goldberg Projects showing figures that veer towards abstraction, yet remain figurative. It is largely, though not exclusively, the penetrating eyes that tend to pin the figures into place, reinforcing their concreteness and bodily presence.
Maya Bloch, Untitled (Inner Appearances), 2010. acrylic on canvas, 59x47 inches.

My hands
Open the curtains of your being
Clothe you in a further nudity
Uncover the bodies of your body
My hands
Invent another body for your body
