You are all red, and so very white
by, Eti Esther Naor
Detail view from the Installation.
This wonderful, powerful exhibition, takes place from today at Florentin 45, in Tel Aviv.
Red wax stalactites drip out of hanging white gauze clothes, creating a poignant sculptural installation. The work captures the viewer within its wall, leading him into the heart of an unresolved experience: Is it an outdoor news-breaking violence scene, or is it an opening to a place of inner pain that spreads out like an ancient landscape, wishing to touch the indescribable? Ei Esther Naor continues to explore in her new work the different manners in which matter can embody evasive contradicting feelings as eroticism, fear, beauty and suffering. Through matter she creates a fantasy space which brings up the duality of the feminine experience while seeking to undermine the possibility for a single emotional and conceptual interpretation. Avi Sabah
Avi Sabah is a young Israeli artist. He paints imaginary, non-specific landscapes-bare trees, tree trunks, sky, sea. At times, he is aided by photographs of trees only to observe how branches break forth from the trunk. Usually he paints from memory or the imagination. more about this talented artist in his web site

split
The Split sereis of photographs by Meirav Heiman was taken during 2003 at various places throughout Israel.
Wadi Khadav , 2003, C Print, 150X120 cm.
"Heiman's decision to thus poistion herself in relation to the landscape creates a basic situation where she dominates the environment through the presence of her body, through her pose, and through the foreign colorfulness that she brings with her. But at the same time, the specific pose she has chosen places her in the landscape horizontally, spread out, present but also stuck. As it is not a simple position, and it does not allow any movement, it transforms her, to a point, from being an active subject dominating the landscape into a passive object located in it." sais Hadas Maor at the text she wrote for the exhibition.
