LOVE, PEACE AND TERROR

LOVE, PEACE AND TERROR - A project by Dadara: {{via yet again one of the most mind expanding blog out there...r-echos (poor interface, but loads of marvelous stuff!}}

"In the sixties naked hippies with flowers braided into their long hair might have been successful in protesting against war, but nowadays probably the language of war itself might be better for delivering a message of peace"

The Amsterdam-based artist Dadara constructed a “Terror Tank" and placed it on the roof of a very public building in Amsterdam. The pink tank appears to have four times the power of a normal tank due to it’s four cannons but in reality, the tank is helpless and incapable of movement because of its four barrels. Through this project, Dadara tries to address the issue of the current world we live in and how we constantly need to change our views about the world and our surroundings. “Can peace be forced by violence and overpowering the opponent? Can war be prevented by waging another war? Isn’t fighting for peace a paradox in itself?" Part two of the project,

the explosion of the tank, took place on February 8th (2007). Take a look at the clip and read more about the project on the Love Peace and Terror website.
