First ever 'world map of happiness'

Adrian White, social psychologist at the University of Leicester in England, has produced the first-ever "World Map Of Happiness". and it is interesting while viewing it to see the List of countries by suicide rate page as well.

via According to Dr. White, happiness is found to be most closely associated with health, followed by wealth and then education. The meta-analysis is based on the findings of over 100 different studies around the world.(The British psychologist analysed data published by the CIA, UNESCO, the WHO and several other organizations measuring data from over 80,000 people worldwide). And the winner is... Denmark. This comes as quite a surprise for most people, since the country in northern Europe is widely known for its high suicide rate. The other Scandinavian countries, score very well, too, though they all have a relatively mild climate and long winters. If all the unhappy people in Denmark are killing themselves, then that might boost its happiness ratings. Since no one is around to report being 'unhappy'. This is usually a statistical problem in reporting people are well...(if the unwell people are not around to report).

This comment by Alka is very amusing and perhaps statistically sound.

Happiness exists only in the seconds that a butterfly engages a flower with its impure affection. We read so much into those moments- we all do- we need to.
