Bodymaps
The Body Maps are artworks which were created by a group of women, The Bambanani Womens Group, based in Cape Town, South Africa. They were invited to tell their stories through a community outreach program initiated by the AIDS and Society Research Unit of the University of Cape Town (ASRU) and Médecins Sans Frontières. This program began to document the lives of this group of HIV+ women who were given access to drug therapies. With the help of Cape Town-based artist, Jane Soloman, the participants created Body Maps- life size images tracing the contours of their bodies that visualize the virus and articulate each individual history. Each Body Map image bears the name, the place and the date of birth, as well as the handprints and the footprints of its maker / subject. Read On

Still Life
by Martin Klimas.
"I drop the figurine from the same height in complete darkness while the lens of the camera is open. When the figurine hits the ground, the sound triggers the lights to go off for a fraction of a second. I do this procedure many times or until I find the one frame that is just right. I keep just one such picture for every figurine". ... read on his interview at the Morning News

Movements
Movement Number 3 (Chinese Gu Qing in white) Oil on canvas 162.6 x 129.5 cm, 2005-2006
Shen Wei is a painter, costume and set designer, photographer, film-maker, dancer and choreographer. Most commentaries on Shen Wei reverse the order of his accomplishments since, of course, he has gained fame primarily as a dancer and choreographer. Yet the visual arts have played a key role in the development of his choreography

The volumes and the various contents of the collection including novels, anthologies, picture books and cartoons indicate the collector's devotion to Hokusai. http://www.tobunken.go.jp/~joho/english/oda/oda.html

Spiral Lands
Geyer's Spiral Lands is a work of photographic and textual historiography that investigates the longest struggle for social justice in North America today - the dispossession of lands from American Indians by colonization, governmentality, capitalist development, and flat out force and violence.
